The team

Virginie Simon, founder & CEO of MyScienceWork:

Engineer in biotechnology from the Technical University of Compiègne (UTC), I wished to strengthen my knowledge of the research world by continuing my education through a PhD in nanotechnology in cancer. I conducted my PhD in Cifre agreement between the start-up Nanobiotix which develops therapeutic nanoparticles for cancer, and the INSERM unit “cancer genetics” at the “Pierre and Marie Curie University” (UPMC). Through my professional scientific experience, I observed a need to promote the communication and knowledge exchanges among scientists. MyScienceWork is the platform I needed during my PhD. As a member of the association “Women & Science”, I am much involved in promoting women in science.

Tristan Davaille, founder & CFO of MyScienceWork:

Following a university education in economics at the University of Paris XII, I graduated as a financial engineer from Reims Managment School. I started my professional career as a financial controller at Meilleurtaux.com. Quickly, I became head of that department and I participated in the buyout of the society by CNCE. In addition, I have been approached both for the redesign of the compensation system for all the commercials of the company as well as for the negotiations with the syndical unions and with the shareholders. Along with my sporting nature, this 4 years’ experience gave me a taste for the fighting spirit. Thus, when Virginie told me about her idea of MyScienceWork, I immediately wanted to join and share this adventure. Indeed, MyScienceWork is an innovative project that meets both the technological and the social needs of the institutions willing to join the web.

Laurence Bianchini, PhD, science journalist :

Specialized in physics, my interests are various: astrophysics, paleontology, neurology, history of science… After a scientific PhD from the University of Paris-Sud, I desired to change my point of view towards science and to feed my curiosity through science journalism.
I enjoyed working in the field of research. There I found among researchers a real desire to coordinate the competences despite the ultra-specialization of the scientific professions.

I found in the objectives of MyScienceWork, this desire to provide the scientific sphere an innovative solution to promote the exchange of skills and knowledge and the desire to provide a better visibility of the work of French and European researchers to a better recognition of their profession and their work.

Abby Tabor, American, science journalist:

Since the end of my studies in psychology with a focus on neuroscience, I have been working to combine my love of science with my appreciation of French language and culture.  After eight months studying in Aix-en-Provence, I returned to the world of research, working in a microbiology lab at Boston University School of Medicine.  I later came back to France, where I taught my own language to business professionals in Paris.  After this very enriching experience, I decided to change course and I completed the Master’s in Science Journalism, at the University of Paris Diderot (Paris 7). Today, I am pleased and excited to participate in a project like MyScienceWork.  I appreciate the chance to remain connected to the world of research, and I share the goal of MyScienceWork to encourage multidisciplinary research and communication across disciplines.

Célya Gruson-Daniel, community manager:

After my postgraduated studies in cognitive neuroscience from the Pierre et Marie Curie University and the Ecole Normale Supérieure, I decided to follow one more year of study in scientific communication. My goal : to get a better undestanding about science- society and new possibilities  offer the web. My work as a community manager for MyScienceWork give me the opportunity to continue to explore this field and to keep contact with research and Science.
